Location

Just a couple of minutes away from iQ Hotel Firenze, the Galleria dell’Accademia is the home of Michelangelo’s masterpiece and the emblem of the city: the statue of David. The majestic statue draws crowds of tourists every year, but the museum boasts many other incredible surprises: Prigioni’s Gallery, the Hall of the Colossos, David’s Grand Gallery, and Gipsoteca Bartolini all contain fascinating collections.

On the ground floor, a labyrinth of food shops selling local products. On the first floor, a food court that will make your jaw drop. The Mercato Centrale di Firenze (the Central Market of Florence) is a must for fine eating in Florence. This piazza of taste offers finger foods and full meals, to satisfy all levels of hunger. Choose from juicy burgers, fresh homemade pasta, organic ice cream and other Italian delicacies. Or just try a bit of everything!

Grandiose, panoramic, photogenic: the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Duomo of Florence, is an obligatory stop during your stay. The rich outer decorations are a surprising contrast to the simple and somber interior, according to the prescribed medieval catholic doctrine. Are you an adrenaline buff? Climb to the vertiginous balconies of the Duomo and dream about flying over the roofs of Florence, just a short distance from you.

Exclusive and glamorous, Via Tornabuoni is one of Florence’s most famous promenades. If you’re a fashion aficionado or an influencer, don’t miss the tour of the designer shop windows along the street. Armani, Ferragamo, Bottega Veneta, Dolce and Gabbana stores are all waiting for you here!
